Oral leukoplakia: premalignant disorder of the oral mucosa (buccal mucosa > gums > lower lip > floor of mouth >sides or undersurface of tongue > soft palate) - white patch or plaque. Associated with smoking and alcohol intake. Middle aged to elderly men. Avoid smoking/alcohol, active treatment (surgery/laser) prevent development of SCC but high recurrence rate. Lifelong follow up.

Salivary gland infection (sialadenitis): acute (e.g. S. aureus, mumps, HIV) or chronic (TB, sarcoid [EN, Ca, bilateral hilar LN])
