Interdigital neuroma (benign grown of nerve tissue) - characteristically presents with pain in the third inter-MTP space
Sharp pain while walking - like having a pebble under the toe
Typically woman in their 40s who wear high-heeled shoes. Loss of sensation to the affected toe is a strong indicator of Morton’s neuroma.
Localised tenderness over the site of the neuroma, although movements of the toe itself are not painful
Surgical excision of the neuroma indicated if conservative measures fail to control symptoms
