Check BP in case hypertension is a contributory factor
1 drop of proxymetacaine 0.5% with fluorescein 0.25%, observe corneal staining with blue light
Should resolve in 1-2 weeks with no treatment
If bodily bruising is present, or the condition is recurring, blood tests should be carried out to eliminate a blood dyscrasia.
