Live vaccines: include measles, rubella, oral polio (SABIN), yellow fever, BCG
The Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) is a live-attenuated vaccine. Live-attenuated vaccines usually produce a durable immunity, but not always as long-lasting as that resulting from natural infection. When two live vaccines cannot be given at the same time, they should be separated by an interval of at least four weeks. They should not be administered routinely to pregnant women because of the theoretical risk of fetal infection. Live vaccines should be postponed until at least three months after stopping high-dose systemic corticosteroids and at least six months after stopping other immunosuppressive drugs or generalised radiotherapy.
